We believe that the world is the classroom and sometimes we do not have the time to expose students with important topics in the classroom. We have created a unique seminar program that exposes students to many different topics that they learn more about through their service learning and travel experiences.
Service learning is a method of teaching that combines classroom instruction with meaningful community service. This form of learning emphasizes critical thinking and personal reflection while encouraging a heightened sense of community, civic engagement, and personal responsibility.
Travel is a key component of the Averroes program. We encourage our students to travel and experience different places, cultures, people, and religions. Pluralism, tolerance, and globalism are key concepts of modern day society and we want to make sure that our students are able to understand and experience these through our travel program which includes volunteer work as well as activities that promote personal growth.
