Reem Bilbeisi has a Masters from UC Berkeley in Principal Leadership with an Administrative Credential. Her passion in Education began in High School when she felt her calling was with youth and working to improve education in schools in the Muslim American Community. She has shown a passion for the youth by leading youth mentor groups and events and counseling many students as early as her college years. After completing her degree in Education with teaching credentials in secondary business/technology education from Eastern Michigan University, she taught in public, charter, and private school settings. Reem has taught at both the high school and middle school level. Reem has served as the principal at Averroes High School since 2011. She has served on WASC visiting committees and is authorized in the following areas of service: superintendent, associate superintendent, deputy superintendent, principal, assistant principal, dean, supervisor, consultant, and school coordinator.
Nejat Romodan Founder and director of Mosaic Therapeutic Services, a consulting therapeutic company that provides in-home therapy for students. She consults regularly with parents and school officials to help create in home programs and classroom modifications for both children and adolescents. In addition, she conducts parent training to encourage parent involvement. Prior to her current position, she had independently contracted with various school districts in the Bay Area. She has conducted and structured home school programs for children with academic, social and/or speech needs.
Using her education from SFSU and USF, she is able to implement behavioral strategies into a classroom. Both her experience and training have helped her put together programs to fit her client’s profile. While working closely with an educator, she incorporates various strategies and modifications to a student’s classroom to support behavior and academic needs.
A Chicago native, graduated in 2013 from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and English for grades 6-12. Zulaikha is an alumnus of the College of Arts and Sciences Education Program (CASEP), where undergraduate courses are equipped with off site teaching experiences in Chicago’s urban school system as early as Freshman year. With a passion to instill confidence in all types of learners, Zulaikha aspires to incorporate more public speaking in the literature classroom. She believes that language is an invaluable gift that should be explored, questioned, and most importantly shared. Zulaikha currently teaches grades 9-12 English Language Arts at Averroes High School.
Co-founder Ateka Ali - Born and raised in Chicago, Ateka Ali completed her BA in International Studies with concentration in Middle Eastern Studies from DePaul University. She earned her MA in secondary Social Sciences and earned M.Ed in Bilingual Bi-cultural studies. Ateka, a Fulbright scholar to Amman, Jordan researched “metacognition” in second-language learners. She has gained a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of second-language acquisition, as well as other related educational theories and practices. She resides in the Bay Area with her husband and two kids.
